Hi Phil nice to hear from you again.
Up to collecting the MH on Saturday WANDERHOMES have not been too bad, apart from a bit slow getting back to us when we had a question to be answered. But that's par for the course nowadays innit.
We looked at so many MH and really got peed off with looking for the layout we wanted.
By default as it was the nearest we could find to what we wanted we bought a new Bailey Autograph 79-4T.
The build quality is not special and only acceptable in my view. But hey ho at least i had £25k left of my budget so that was a bonus.
Just got a call from Wanderhomes advising our MH has gone to the Peugeot commercial workshop to be sorted. Lord knows when we will now get it.
Good luck in your search. What's your preference?

Re: New RV
Hello Phil, I looked all over the South West and found Highbridge to be pretty good, Lot's of choice, good prices and everything worked as it should when we picked ours up. Having lived with it and in it for the past 12 months, we are more than happy with the Swift 664.... I've since looked at many others including A Class and Tag Axles but still not really found anything that tempts me yet.... Good luck with your search.
Ok, I confess.......
Re: New RV
Talking about Build Quality, It's really varied from what I see.... Panel fit, Silicone, Transfers on the outside can all be a bit iffy when you get up close.... Interior fit and quality of materials are another minefield...... I'm a bit critical though as it's my job ! As for Engines, I would deffo prefer a Transit as It's on another level of smoothness and refinement over our Fiat Ducato MH. Having said that, It does pull well enough, just a bit gruff.
Ok, I confess.......

Re: New RV
On the MH scene Transits get a bad press.
They are also a lot easier to nick i am told.

Re: New RV
We've had ours for about 8 years, our son used to come with us so we were governed by seat belts in the back. Ours is supposed to be 5 berth, hopefully now we can have less berths and more space. As long as it can have A tow bar fitted, A Peugeot or Ford will be ok. Not really sure on the layout yet need to have A good look. We're towing A couple of bikes to the Peak District on Wednesday, really looking forward to it. Good luck with yours Bob, hope it's sorted soon. Nev I hope you're Grom is sorted soon looking forward to hearing more about it.
Re: New RV
Grom ? .... oh yes, I forgot about it for a while there !!!! This is week 5 and still no news, I guess It'll be ready sometime this year. Ford Engines use Ad Blue BTW .... Fiat's have a clever Multi Jet engine that does away with that.
Ok, I confess.......

Haha. Just got back from Halfords with 10lts of Ad Blue.
Our Caddy needs it and the Peugeot in the new MH needs it.
The Fiat i just sold, 18 plate did not.
Don't understand it all.

Re: New RV
Don't understand why though..... the engines and gearboxes are silky smooth in my experience..... much better than the Fiat/Peaugeot/Citroen offerings ....... I have heard of Electrical/ECU issues though.... but heck, even Kawasaki have Issues !!!! Driving my Tranny after the Fiat is like riding my Busa after a Harley .... lol.bobsnicholson wrote: ↑Mon Aug 16, 2021 11:44 am On the MH scene Transits get a bad press.
