New RV

Post by bobsnicholson »

Sorry it's another about RVs

Went to collect our Brand new motor home.
Hand over went well.
Paperwork and payment went well, ready for the off.
Won't start, no diesel in it.........can you believe.
Faffing about to get diesel sorted.
Finally gets going.
Within 3 miles the engine warning light come on but no advisory. As i am on the motorway i don't want to stop thinking it's nothing major. 9 miles starts losing power, pulls over to the hard shoulder it cut's out. I see slip road bout arf mile. It starts so i creep along up slip road to park safely. Engine making sick noses (mechanical).
Shirley had already gone in the car. Called her, she is at Leeds, turns around to come back to me.
I meanwhile called the dealer who called the RAC. 1 hour later Shirley arrives 2 hours later RAC truck arrives to trailer our brand new RV away with us wondering when we might see it again.
Propper pissed off.
Shirl cancelled our Laneside camp site booking from Monday.
Work is for people that can't play golf.

When we are ready Nev and heading down that way would appreciate some pointers on where to stop over and or to look at.
I know you did do exactly that some time ago BUT this old pensioners brain cannot retain info as it once could.

I want to see Porlock, Lynton and lynmouth, Ilfracombe, Woolacombe, Saunton and Croyd again.... haven't been for a while... Fantastic roads on Two Wheels and not too bad in a MH if you know which roads to take..... This weekend coming we are going to a proper campsite near Abbotsbury near Weymouth... It's called East Fleet Farm... have a look mate.

it was all messed up from the start. the accountant and the guy doing the handover said come sat. the salesman and the manager said come sun. we thought what the hell a day earlier cant be bad they all said it was ready for collection. you would have thought they had time to put some fuel in it.
dosen't bother me what some of the clowns on the old forum thought of me, im the one sat there rubbing my hands :D

If you don't mind me asking what make of RV was it and where did you get it ?
We're possibly looking to change ours and it would be nice to know what dealers to avoid.
Cheers
