I use a broker for the car. Best deal, best price, zero effort on my part.

This year the Fazer renewal was no bother. AA. Didn’t bother to look elsewhere.

Funnily enough , LV sent me a renewal quote this month for my BMW . I'm now with the AA .
Bike insurance due on the 16th May and Hastings are intending to automatically take £140 but shopped around with that Meerkat thing and Carole Nash are offering £91 . Weird thing is , I used to be with Carole Nash before their renewal prices started rising , so every year it's a search on these comparison sites . :tdn:
It wasn't my fault , I was left unsupervised !

I didn't know brokers were still about. I must look into that. I always used to use one. As you say, it's just so much easier and saves lots of time, too.

Personally not sure about brokers. IMO just another intermediary to take their cut. Especially when the compare sites and/or telephones are so convenient.
Remember my son is a broker with Carol Nash (just been promoted to a bigger chair near a window :-| ) I have never had a competitive quote off him yet whilst he has been there.

They don’t take a cut per se.

The quote is whatever it is. The provider allows for commission at a set rate. It doesn’t affect the quote.

For my car, I’ve always had a decent company, rather than some unheard of, never-pay-out!

Had a claim on the house with AA, and they were brilliant, so very happy to use them.

As it stands at the mo my insurances are with
BMW RT LE : A.A. Now cancelled
Goldwing : Bennetts. Son at Carol Nash couldn't beat Bennetts.
BMW M5 : LV. Nearly £150 cheaper on compare than Autorenewal.Same company. No DO NOT auto renew Box
RR Velar : LV. Renewed with LV after phone call to them. They were also cheaper on the compare site.
Vw Caddy : Post Office. Compare site cheapest.
Jag E-Type : LV. Compare cheapest.

Chances are All will be changed at renewal. Only 1 was renewed with the same company that was after a phone call to them. As previously stated I have never had a more competitive quote off a traditional broker?????.
I have even phoned the Insurers/brokers that are NOT on compare sites that say they will beat them, they never do. And phoning is a ball ache for me.
I always tick the DO NOT automatically renew box if there is one......that is a trap.

As I have always stated, I hate insurance company's and how they operate.
