Hello......
Hello......
Hope everyone is well... looking forward to hearing what you have been up to.
Ok, I confess.......
Re: Hello......
You know what I've been up to and like you, I'm ready to move on and hope things get better soon.
I have managed a weekend away at shelsley walsh hill climb. (I think I was in Worcester) with my bike and tent, attending the Triumph Owners Club 75th Birthday celebrations.
A fabulous weekend, camping in a heritage apple orchard and seeing lots of friends, old and new and enjoying all the bikes. Food, music, a few drinkies on the Friday evening after arriving.
Paul was there so we had a good time catching up and I had a very nice breakfast on the way at the Super Sausage. I sent Keith a message as he's only along the road from there, but he was away.
My friend Christine's husband, Phil, led the way as we didn't want to get tangled up in a big ride out with the rest of our club branch. Coming home we detoured to see the outskirts of Oxford and had a much nicer ride home.
Weather was good and my little Bonneville was a joy to ride. I need to get something done with my suspension as it felt even better with a little more weight on the back. My new luggage worked well on it but I've ordered the next size up roll bag for the back seat, so I can take my bigger tent next time.
My next planned trip is to the Peak District for a few days. No tent this time! It's a Premier Inn for me. A rare treat.
The only fly in the ointment at the moment is the rest of the family trying to find a date that suits all of us for a celebration of Mother's life. A big send off party with music, art and hopefully all her friends and family there is planned. I wrote a list of dates that I'm supposed to be elsewhere and also for some of her closest friends and a few of the relations, which, apparently, nobody has read as it looks as if I may have to cancel the holiday.
Of course, I want to be there, but I've waited since 2019 to try and get my real life back. I'd be sorry to miss the trip away, but Mother's goodbye party is the most important thing at the moment.
At least my garden is coming along at the new house. One of my friends told me that it looked much more like my garden now. "Woolley round the edges" is how she described it. I liked that!

Re: Hello......
Nev, sold the MH (well it's gone but no money in my pocket yet).
Looking for another bike as cannot get on with this BIKE (note CC). I love everything about it except the seat height, the bastards said with the kit they could get it down to below 800, it's still 820/830, makes all the difference to me. Below 800 is my preference.
So looking again to replace it.
Been so long don't know if i told ya'll i'm a grandad again. Zachary came along before Christmas.

Re: Hello......
Congratulations, Grandad Bob. Just in case you did tell me and I've forgotten.
Go and sit on a Street Twin. You can't travel fast, but I like being able to get both feet down! And everyone else keeps telling me how well they go and the awesome torque.
I think they are all lying. I certainly don't agree, but it's not spoiling it for me. I love it.
Get a blue one. They're the best colour, although silver's nice as well.

Re: Hello......
Bee, as you now i've never been into Triumphs, however a few weeks ago i was in a bike dealership that did triumphs and others. For the first time in a long time i stopped and looked at a Street Twin and thought, now that's a nice bike.
Maybe i'll go back look closer.

Re: Hello......
I've just agreed to join some old friends for a long weekend camping, somewhere near Prescott hillclimb on the 23rd. Another long ride. I have so missed this sort of thing, but making up for lost time now
I have invested in a slightly bigger roll bag, so I can take my bigger tent.
The bike handles so much better with a bit of extra weight on. I am in danger of thinking about a suspension upgrdade.

Re: Hello......
Good morning all ,
Only just found the e-mail in my junk folder from Admin saying I was allowed back in .
Anyway , caught up with a lot of unread posts and seems like a few of us have experienced the same shit recently . Condolences to those .
My father was taken off his cancer drugs at the beginning of the year as they were no longer effective and then spent months in and out of hospital up until the 12th April when he lost his battle . We could see the inevitable happening but it's still a kick in the bollocks when it happens .
So technically , I'm now an orphan if anyone wants to adopt me .
On a much brighter note ,just had a weekend away on the bike where we over-nighted in Brecon on Friday evening and Saturday went to a place called Drakelow Tunnels near Kidderminster . Built during WWII and then used during the Cold War , now a museum .
Yesterday on the way home had a tour of the Spaceguard Centre in Knighton where they monitor asteroids and calculate the chances of a strike on Earth . Both really geeky but interesting visits . (I know how to spoil my wife )

It wasn't my fault , I was left unsupervised !
