Yesterday i went for a good run in the Jag. Top down it was freezing but the right kit on it was lovely.
Today i intended going for a run on the bike.................no effing way, total white out. Don't give a toss what good kit one might have i ain't going out in that.
My dropbox is full so it wont let me show some new photos of the Col-Du Chaussy we went over in France on Thursday. Spectacular. Top section was snow, no prob for the Velar.
A Col well worth doing IMO, very scenic.
EDIT : and i don't know how to un-fill my dropbox, tried but failed. Maybe Emma could help me??

Re: No way
If you went that way home, you missed us by 500 meters
Just looked at that on the map. Stunning. But best reserved for summer

Re: No way
As we were getting close to the top madam was saying we should turn back it's getting bad, i thought for a millisecond we should, but being a bloke . Glad we didn't as the car coped easily and the vistas was well worth the twitching bum.
As for summer, yes maybe on a bike but not in a car as all the nobs in RVs and Volvo's will clog it up.
Great Col though.
After leaving we stayed 1 night in Valance. Then the Col then all the way home to Cheshire via the chunnel. Long drive. Left Valance 7am walking into the house 10pm. Just sitting waiting for the equiv NIPS to drop through the door.

I would have willingly helped you Bob. You know that. Glad you got it sorted without my help
(Now. Can someone explain what a drop box is, do I have one and if so, what's it for?)

Re: No way
That is just a dusting of snow.
I had do deal with snow drifts up to a meter deep and 10 to 20 meters wide last winter. Put the Frontier (same as the previous generation Navara) into 4-High and hit them at about 45 mph. No way would I have made it through with a low ground clearance car.

Piglet, it's is just the start of winter here. Within a week or so this particular pass will be closed and like your place will have a meter or more of snow. Big difference is we don't have (wont spend) the money on machinery to keep passes like this open.
