Finally done it

Post by Ninjachica »

Just cleaned the bike, when the neighbour popped over, to check all was well.

He used to race, and is a mechanic, so I make use of him in Ed’s absence.

Fancy fitting some crash bungs?
So here I am. After 25 years, I’ve finally got some on!

Bought them with the bike, but hadn’t got around to getting them on. Hope I never need to test them 😕

My Street Triple has them. It seemed daft to remove them when I bought the bike and not long after I bought the Daytona, which also had them fitted, I rolled it down a bank (Not deliberately. It was left on a slope and I couldn't touch the ground) and it ended upside down in the hedge. No damage at all and John managed to get it upright again. We dusted the muddy tufts of grass off the crash bungs and carried on with the ride.

I also have engine covers on both sides, just in case it goes for a slide at any time. Very expensive new, but I found a full set of Triumph ones on ebay. Bargain at £80 for the whole set :)

Have engine covers on the BM and bungs (sliders in Kawasaki speak) on the Z. Also had bungs on the CB 1100. Thus far non put to the test.
