If anyone else designs their own routes for motorbike Sat Nav then ..............
I've found a way to transfer a Google Maps route onto my TomTom Sat Nav . I'm more than happy to advise/help if anyone else is as sad as me.
Jonny 1400 has been bending my ear about this and I haven't understood a word. I have just learnt how to put a postcode into mine and follow the instructions. Next time I shall leave the bendy route option alone. Looking forward to having another go, just in case it was a fluke. I think I'll leave the geek stuff for later but I can't tell you haw amazed I was when I ended up where I planned to. I thought I'd never get the hang of it. I somehow managed to change my home address to somewhere in Chippenham, but luckily noticed in time. I could have been vary late home if I hadn't figured that one out in time, or possibly very early for the Triumph rally on the sports ground there.
John used to do that and so does his mate Phil. I have turned it off on the Sena thingy. I'm finding it quite hard enough to learn all this new stuff, without 'phone calls. Besides that, if my Mother ever found that such a thing was possible she'd be ringing me every five minutes to check I hadn't fallen off since she last rang.
Sat Navs, don't you just love em. My run this am am was planned by Google maps, general direction only, then again i was not going anywhere. Great getting lost but having the means get back home is comforting.
Quite so, piglet. I don't trust the thing really. It decided to change my home location to Chippenham, without my permission. Luckily I noticed in time to save myself a 270 mile trip up country. Every time I think I'm winning it does something I don't understand.
I always used the scribbled notes or wife on the back map reading but the SatNav has probably saved my marriage whilst touring abroad , due less arguments . (Can't decide if that's a good thing )
Bike specific TomTom Rider has a good feature of "Plan a Thrill" where you insert your destination and it automatically takes you on the twisty roads avoiding motorways etc.
Anything for an easier life !
