It's all a pain... I took it to my mate Barry who plugged it in to his Diagnostic device which gave no proper fault codes, so I did a bit of research and decided to remove the ECU and send it for resetting, but every little part of the job was a pain.... even had to shut the drivers door before disconecting the battery.... probably saved a few £££'s though, fingers crossed it will be ok otherwise I'll have to wait for a new one which means no MOT and no trips...........

OK so it's now back and I've managed to contort myself backwards to install it and....... It works !!!!! so now it's off to the MOT station and another twelve months of Drunken debouchery, wild sex and ....... oh hang on, I might have got a bit carried away.....! anyway, we now only have to insure it, service it and have the habitation check done...... oh and sort out the front end as the Deer strike damage is still not repaired...... oh and not to forget the toilet flush which packed up about 18 months back...... oh and now we have another impact dent as someone lobbed a rock at it last night.... the joys of owning a motorhome eh ?....... Did i mention the 90 litre tank of Diesel fill up cost ?

£20 is now a full tank on the MT, used to be £13...... To be honest it doesn't bother me too much as we put all fuel receipts on the business anyway. Faults seem to be common on all MH's so I read..... and they seem to continue the older they get.... none of our faults have caused any real issues though, we just get over them, even toilet flushing is not a problem as we carry a 5 litre water container with Thetford flush inside..... Have you anything planned Bob ?

If I ever get to retire, the plan is to tour around and certain parts of Europe are on the list..... Southern France and Northern Spain would be the first places... either side of the Pyrenees would be fantastic..... every time we think about easing up on work, something new comes along to put us back again......the last twenty years have seen so many highs and lows in our industry and the self employment bit has been a roller coaster what with Recessions, Brexit, Covid and all the rubbish that goes with it but eventually we will get there..... still saving for our next MH and dreaming of Freedom !!!

I've always had a pipe dream of buying an Overlander / Expendition 6 x 6 style motorhome and visiting extreme parts of Northern Scandinavia and remote corners of Europe .
Then I saw the price of these vehicles and was brought straight back to reality .

There are cheaper options though.. I see people with 4wd vans that they've converted...........the very thought of driving over rough terrain scares me to death...... all that banging and crashing of the contents...... it's bad enough just going around a roundabout !!!!!!!

That sounds like me trying to get to the fuses on the Street Triple, several years ago. It took me two hours to get within sight of the stupid things and then the next line in the handbook said disconnect the computer thingy. That's when I gave up and decided my days of replacing fuses are probably over.
And it only took 97 minutes to put it back together again.
