Managed to ride it twice on Saturday after nearly dying lifting it up on the bike rack !!!! but it was well worth it...... used about half a battery charge, roughly 20 miles both on and off road.... earlier, I'd snipped the wire that restricts it to 30 mph and now it's up to 50 plus it pulls rather more spritely.... It will wheelie too...... So far so good, looking forward to many little adventures........ funny thing was, I decided to go off road later without a helmet and took a short trip along a road only to see a police car coming towards me.... the chap didn't even notice.... it's just like a mountain bike from the front so he probably didn't even notice.....

It sounds fun, but that insurance!
My Kawasaki insurance has gone down £20 this year. Pension day on Wednesday. Ihave to pay tax,insurance and MOT and alsoanother £99 for my breakdown cover. I don't mind paying the breakdown though. It cover both bikes and the car as well as any vehicle I'm a passenger in and I have to say that knowing help was coming and me and the Striple were going to be delivered back into my shed after the last breakdown in the New Forest was worth every penny and more of that price.
I must remember to stay away from any new tech. It must be easy to steal if it costs so much to cover.
Would you get a discount for having a tracker fitted? Bennestts £3 reduction for having a top of the range tracker on the Striple. Biketrac have a 97% success rate for bike recovery after theft. I though it might be worth quite a bit more off a premium for that, but no. Such a rip-off.

Think my ZZR1400 was £92 last time i insured it..... Thing is, It's very light, so easily lifted and because it's road legal, it has to be insured .... other quotes were just stupid especially given my location, the locked Garage and the Gun emplacements surrounding the house !!!!...... I think having breakdown cover is a good thing as you wouldn't want to be stuck in the middle of noware without a way to get home.... done that a couple of times and it's not good...... Now then, about that New Forest Trip !!!!

There's a rumour that an exchange date may be announced sometime in the next few days.
IF it's true and IF completion follows after, as I'm told is normal for most people, then I can book the Striple in to be resurrected from it's 11 months of lying in state.
And IF it doesn't let me down on the many test rides it will be getting once I have it back, maybe I will try a return to the New Forest before my favourite site closes for the season. IF I can remember where I packed the camping equipment
Otherwise it will have to be next year. I still have to get all my pannier frames put back on and the sat-nav but I'm hoping to get that done at the same time as the repairs are done. And a service. And a fluid change, while I still have a few quid left.
