Bee's

Post by bobsnicholson »

Bee Shirley planted lots more different plants this year.
Wish i could put photos up but hey ho.
Anyway the point is, so many bees on the flowers. Never seen so many. Even in our big garden at the other house we never seen so many.
Is there an upsurge in them? I was hearing they are fading away?
We encourge them as much as poss. In fact Shirl has plans to plant even more of these ones that are attracting them.
Work is for people that can't play golf.

ithink it's been a good year for the Birds and Bees, a mixture of rain and fine weather which brings out all the flowers that the Bees and bugs feed on which are then food for the Birds...... our hedges are bursting with flowers and Bees and Birds....
Ok, I confess.......

Around here, I've noticed a lot more wildflower zones over the last few years. Verges roundabouts etc. Very pretty and very easy to keep.
If it ain't fun, don't do it

Think this Wilding is a good thing.
The councils love it so they don't have to do as much work mowing therefore putting more money in the executives pockets.

just found this post!

I think there are less bees then ever this year, but planting for them is a good thing. Having the right plants is the biggest help.
In this weather they might also like a dish of water with some pebbles in. It takes them a few days to find it but it's fun to watch them coming to land and drink.
I'm glad to see councils are doing better with verge management. We've (I've) been pestering since the 1970's to have this done.
It just goes to show you really do have to keep on asking if you want things to change.

Leaving me free to pollute the country with my vehicle collection. :D
