Scooter rack

Post by bobsnicholson »

Tow bar has been fitted to Billy (MH).
I have been searching for a scooter rack for ages now.
I know you can get a rack that fits to the two bolt flange where the ball is, simply remove the ball and fix the rack, however, can i find where to buy this rack, can i heckers like.
Anyone on here know where??

I can then buy a scooter that conforms to the carrying specs weights of the rack.

Long shot i know but got to try. Asked on the MH forum, loads of suggestion but non have suited.

I gave up on the rack idea as a proper set up was @ £2000 Plus including fitting a Tow Bar..... i also read a few reviews which warned of the Permissable weight limits and the actual effect it had on handling being as it was a rather heavy item way out on the back a fair way from the Axle ........but it wasn't that, that put me off the idea it's just that I found a better option which just mounts on the existing Bike Rack. The Sur-Ron weighs 50 KG's but only @ 30 KG's if you take the Battery out... plus I can charge the Battery via our Solar setup...... as for thequestion you asked, try Witter Towbars and Armitages 01977 607155.
Ok, I confess.......

have taken weights and loading into consideration.
Had a rented MH for 5 weeks some years ago that i put a scooter on the rack. No issues re driving.
Wont go leccy route, and i think Shirley on the back of a rom pom wouldn't work :D
I am sure i have looked at Witter and Armitages, not sure will go back, but Witter i think dont do racks anymore, Armitages not sure.
I'll sort it one way or other.

The Electric thing is a bit of a gamble Bob...... but I'm going to give it a go as it might just work for me personally........ It's only for one person though so no good for taking a pillion....... We are currently sat in PUK in a Campsite watching People....... A couple turned up 3 hours ago with a Trailor Tent and they are still trying to set it up !!!! We did stroll over to offer help though........ It's been quality entertainment just sat watching !!!! anyway, our nearest neighbors have a rather nice rig....... I'll be sneaking a look inside in a bit..... Sur-Ron Electric thing.......

That's what it's all about innit, people and antics watching.
Problem with over 8mts is lot's of sites don't have the space..........alright if you are wilding. We will only wild if we are forced to. Ours is 7.93Mts.

Just can't get into leccy anything other than tooth brush.

Got to phone dave Cooper trailers on Monday as e-mails wont go through.

Thanks again Phil.
