Little screen

Post by Snev »

Put a Puig screen on the MT today and took it for a ride...... it might be small but it did a good job...... then on the way back I gave it a proper handful in third and the front lifted and It almost had a tank Slapper...... haven't had one of them for years..... might take the screen off and have another go but I guess it's the bike as the old one used to get a bit out of shape......

It sounds fun :)

Shortest day today. So busy the last five weeks that I've only done two short rides, but I hope once this week is over I can ride more often.
One last job to be done and then I'm free to play!
Hospital appointment for a liver scan this afternoon and no food and drink allowed until that's over, so bring it on and then I'm ready to enjoy a few days of solitude. Maybe the weather will be good and I can ride.
Pretty sure the Kawasaki front wheel has never been off the ground before. Maybe that should become my new years resolution! :D

Good luck with the scan.... I was out a fair bit yesterday, shopping for special food stuffs for Crimbo, lots of organic local produce and today I'll be turning it into things.... just done a chestnut, sage, onion and cider pork stuffing all wrapped up in streaky bacon.... I love doing all this. Later I'm off to a Farm Shop for a few other bits. We have a terrific Butchers and they like bikes too .... Getting the front up is easy but doing it in a controlled manner is the difficult bit...
Ok, I confess.......

My son is cooking for me this year. Secretly I'm a bit sad as I love cooking a big Christmas dinner, but very glad that I have lovely kids who want to look after me and hoping for a doggie bag to bring home afterwards :)

I am honestly not sure what to make of the liver scan, so I came home, served up a small bowl of chili and a very large glass of cheap red wine while I thought it through.
There's good news Mostly, although I have been rather confused by the comment "I have no idea what that is, but you can rest assured, your liver and pancreas are fine".
I suppose if it's anything to worry about I'll hear soon enough. I was too confused to question it at the time.
At least I know it's safe to abuse my liver with a second glass of plonk :D

Well, it seems my liver is as fine as it's ever going to be. It suffered quite badly during the brain surgery. Being chilled while they operate is apparently risky stuff, but there was nothing to lose by then, so I'm pleased that it's as good as it is.
The thing the scan operatoer didn't recognise is scar tissue from the lung operation and nothing can be done about that, but knowing what it is is a huge relief. I can live with the symptoms now I know all is well.
Really nice of my GP to still be at work and calling me to let me know. She saved me until last. She said it was good to end on a happy call. :)
That's a pretty happy christmas to me! I think I might have a pina colada, and one for the cat, too. I expect I'll have to help him with his :D

I'm really pleased. I can live with the problem now I know what's causing it. Just being alive is increasingly more important after the ups and downs over the last couple of years! :)

Bring on next year. I'm ready for it! :D
