went to a big barn earlier.....
went to a big barn earlier.....
It was huge........... went there 10 years ago and the owners wanted to do a really cheap kitchen refurb........ we did it but fell out as they wanted to spend bugger all but they expected all new frontalls, worktops, appliances and all manner of other stuff for not a lot of money......... so fast forward 10 years and i'm back there doing a whole new kitchen design for a quater of the prices the old owners ere quoted...........and the new owners have been quoted so far........... it's an old barn probably worth £2 million and we are quoting only @ £7000 for the kitchen...... I just love doing this shit !!!!!
Ok, I confess.......

I'm going to a big barn tomorrow, helping my Mum out with another gathering.
She lives in a fabulous barn conversion on the farm where my Brother can keep an eye on her.
We reckon it must be the poshest Granny annexe in the country!
When I eventually manage to sell my house I'll be moving in next door to her, while I house hunt, but I only have a cowshed and no heating. My kitchen is a very old table, an old galvanised trough as a sink and a set of old bookshelves to put my pots and pans on, a gas ring and a microwave.
I will, however, be getting a 260 acre garden and room to keep my bike indoors with me

I could cope with a view over a garden like that
If it ain't fun, don't do it
Re: went to a big barn earlier.....
We fitted a Kitchen in an old Barn near Malborough @ 20 years ago.... it cost @ £40000, it was a Traditional design but was never intended to be used as the owner had installed a Commercial Kitchen in the room behind which had cost @ £150,000....... The Barn was Massive and used to entertain Guests of the Estate when Hunting and the owner was the Duke of Westminster ! It's always amazed me just how rich some are and how poor the rest of us are.
Ok, I confess.......

I thought my €5000 kitchen cost a lot
Mind you, I still like it 10 years on…

Most of our kitchens are between £4000 and £10,000 but sometimes we get the odd £20,000 plus jobs, people get totally ripped off mostly and mostly by the Big Sheds or small so called "specialists".... We're heading fast towards our 8000th job not counting all the stuff before we opened our own showroom. Can't wait to retrire !
Ok, I confess.......

Nev, can you wait until I've managed to sell up and move? I was hoping to pick your brains about kitchen design before you retire
