Right kit

Had to tonight, to drop the Fazer off at a friends.

Nice and toasty. Didn’t put the grips on until half way there.

Love my new kit. Well worth the money.

I have all the right kit but never wear it at the right time ! ..... Getting colder now so a few winter bits have come out, the thing that stops me riding in the cold, is the Salt..... I don't mind on an old bike but buggered if the new ones are getting covered, ACF50 or not...

Love all my winter kit, especially the heated vest.

I look back and wonder how I survived with just jeans and jackets. Eventually I could afford second hand waxed cotton gear and it seemed an improvement at the time. Getting back into it after a day at work it would either be standing to attention if I'd left it somewhere cold, or in a clammy heap next to the wet boots and gloves.

Now I have lots of lovely technical layers and heated things to play with. I still feel the cold, but not nearly as much as I used to

I still ride all winter, as long as it's not icy and if the lane's clear of it's autumn mud and wet leaf carpet. It's been very dry this year and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the last of the leaves fall and get blown away before the next lot of wet weather arrives.
It's never happened before, but I always live in hope.

rewind to 79..... jeans and light weight paddock type jacket and Doc Martins...... the next year I had some old MX boots with lots of straps and Fishermans Socks turn over at the top...... and a S/H wax cotton Mascot jacket.... it stunk wet or dry..... then a bit later i got a belstaff, it stunk too...... there was a bit of a memory blank period till the next set of stuff but i remember almost always being wet and cold.... then I got the GS850G and a matching Girlfriend and a set of Miami Vice style clothing with matching canvass deck shoes......... then she dumped me and I just wanted to go die.......However, A brand new FJ1200 soon replaced the love of my life, so a set of blue Fieldsheer Leathers were purchased sans boots and gloves but it didn't matter because I was pretty much invincible.......... from then on it was a mix of Shorts, Tee;s and a few other odd things like Fishing Jackets and Wellies........ then more recently it's just been Shorts and Tee's in the warm months and Walking jackets in the wet months with a few expensive designer bikers stuff when I feel guilty......... Today I had a full set of Bike stuff on, including thermal vest, Goretex jacket and Halvarsons Trousers and a really great pair of Richa 4 season winter gloves......... it was fantastic, right up to the point my other half rang me from work to say I needed to take the Tranny to exeter to pick up a bloody kitchen................

Ed swears the best jacket he had was the freebie he got from JCB when he bought an excavator.

My youngest used to deliver for Pizza Hut, on a scooter. His waterproofs were really good. John used them for years after Stuart finished working there and I've only just worn out his kitchen apron. Must have been using it for 20 years.

Ed talks about the days when he wore a beanie hat, and constantly had to go back for it, when it blew off!


I remember pre helmet days, and having to wash your hair, which was black from diesel fumes
