Another 70 miles earlier.

Post by Snev »

I know it's not that impressive at all but I did manage to do it between showers...... anyway, got home dry and decided to adjust the chain as it was really slack....... got a full tank and a day off tomorrow so I'll be off to somewhere nice and try to rack up the miles ready for the first service....... might post some pics too.......... have a great evening chaps !
Ok, I confess.......

Deffo getting colder.... It's 4 degrees here at the moment with the wind coming from the North...... I didn;t get very far yesterday as the Rain stopped my plans....... might get out later but I have a Kitchen to deliver first....... Thinking about your Gold Wing, personally I'd probably keep it rather than buy the BMW K1600.... or just go for the RT1250 which seems to be the better bike of the two............ Going off for a couple of nights in the MH on Friday, on my own for a bit of foraging and fishing. Trip number 37 !
Ok, I confess.......

Riding the Wing yesterday i was thinking WHY would i want to change this for a bike that has less.
I think when one has a good ride on a bike one is happy with you have to think sensible.....ish.

No, i think i will keep it for awhile. Maybe sometime next year get a 2nd smaller much lighter bike in prep for giving up the big bike.

Sensible is good..... Make sure you properly test ride any smaller bikes Bob..... Everyone I've ridden lately has the same jerky fueling/throttle response... even my new MT has it to a degree nothing as bad as the old one and miles better than the Z900 but it's tiresome and annoying..... that's why I get them sorted properly as it transforms the whole experience..... Next week I'm off to Crescent MC's to test ride their re-flashed and Dyno'd MT with full system to see what it feels like.....
Ok, I confess.......

It's been mentioned several times over the years i have NEVER test rode a bike before buying. Spose that's one reason i got rid of my Z900RS after throwing loads of money on posh bits, it just didn't go right (technical term).

Mate just bought a new BM 1250 GS with yellow bit's. Every conceivable extra he has put on it, one of these special addition ones, £26,500 for a GS, come on. Have to say though it looks the bollocks. Problem is they don't supply ladders to get on it.

I can see where it's going to end up with your new un, just can't leave as is can you, it's a disease innit  :D

If your Z900RS was anything like My Z900, I can understand exactly what you are saying and it's because of that I look to make it better, which it does.... Euro 5 makes bikes run really lean which affects the feel of the throttle especially when trying to hold a steady speed.... it's too sensitive and ends up on off.... and worse on bumpy roads..... I know I keep saying it but that's how most new bikes are now. I tested the Honda CB1000 and that was the same too.....
