Nev, good documentary on BBC, "The making of Bridge over Troubled Water".
No mention of that song being connected with anything British.

From memory I was told that the song was written after Art Garfunkle heard about a lad who drowned in the River .... I was told this by the owner or manager of the Fishermans Cot Inn whilst waiting for our Raft to appear during the annual Raft Race.... that was back in the late 80's and I've heard other stories that claim it to be false since but never really looked in to it..... what was the Documentary saying about it ?
Ok, I confess.......

Can't remember as the whole doc was about make the album "Bridge over Troubled Water". They talked about how each and every song on that album came about. When they were explaining how BOTW came about there was absolutley no mention of UK or any bridges.
It's a good doc if you like S&G. BBC catch up.
