I always take the cheap option. A terrifying trip through the tunnel and pack a tent.
Easier for me though, as it's only a few miles for me to get to France and get started on my trips. Not much fun when you need a long journey before you even get out of the country.

When we had the villa near Alicante the Portsmouth-Santander-Bilbao routes were convenient and when getting off it was a easy 7.5-8 hour easy run down.
However when we go "touring" it's the tunnel every time.

I was impressed with how quickly I got from Bilbao to Xativa. The roads were excellent.

Ed, on the other hand, was in the truck, towing the digger, alongside a son that had pressed ‘avoid motorways’ on the sat nav. When he found himself reversing down a mountain track, he re-set it!

Not knowing anything about Spain whatsoever..... I can't really add anything here ....... But Bob, I was following a Testarossa earlier through Yeovil and I have to say what an impressive car it was ...... even Sammy said Wow.... Our Punto was struggling to catch it up but we got there eventually...........
Ok, I confess.......

Coming back from Peterborough on Sat i let a Ferrari Californian pass me (cause looked like a pretty blonde in the passenger seat), Shirl said that's nice, i said she looks like a right dog, the car you moron she said. I said the Californian is the cheapest entry level Ferrari, Shirl said buy one. Told you she is mad.
