I finally got out on the bike for a proper ride!
Most of the bruising from my op has gone, so managed to get my leathers on!
Went over the Staffordshire moorlands, then clipped Buxton, then took some tiny back lanes around the Peak District, finally popping out in Bakewell.
Pottered through Matlock Bath (bleddy heaving) then past carsington, then took some more random lanes.
Need to get my arse ready for the NC500!

Re: I did it, I did it
I've been able to get back on a bike, too. Lovely!
I thought I'd be doing a couple of hundred miles a a day by now, but the reality is more like 30-40, with a break halfway through
Better then no riding though. Some warm weather without a howling gale would be nice though.

Re: I did it, I did it
my day ride was supposed to be @ 200 miles .... down to North Devon to see my Mum via all the Exmoor places and roads that I love but, I got to Taunton and saw a gurt black wall of Cloud and rain and decided to take a detour up to the Quantocks instead...... It was a good ride other than all the Idiots I met........... Pissing down here now in the Motorhome but Sammy and myself are just listening to it on the roof and relaxing ..................
Ok, I confess.......
Re: I did it, I did it
I saw something similar recently, except it had swirling funnels coming out of the bottoms of the clouds.
Hard to ride around the storm lines when they extend from Arkansas to Canada.

Took Bertie out for a short run. Put it back in the garage with the intention of taking the bike for a run after a cup of tea.
After cup of tea went back into the garage and started the bike, put jacket on and opened the garage door. Over there it was black as the hobs of hell, thought sod that. Jacket off switch bike off.

I love a good storm, it's a shame we don't get your weather over here.... watched Twister on the TV yesterday.... again ! You seem to get extremes of weather, is it normal then ?
Ok, I confess.......

Normal when cold air from the Arctic meets warm air from the Gulf of Mexico.
