Lost (in France)

Post by Ninjachica »

Anyone else remember the song?

Anyway, satnav had already arrived 👍

Bolts and fittings look pretty weird, so I actually looked at the instructions 😁. Should be fine. Need to hard wire the lead.

Then need a child to program it.

Previously I’ve just used my phone, and looked at it for seeing where to go, but I’m actually considering a headset of some sort.
Maybe even 2, so Jess and I can talk as we do the route (although maybe switch it off on the boring trek to Falkirk). I guess we could even listen to music...

I’ve never bothered before, so wonder if this would be a waste of money.
Thoughts?

Cheap panniers are just that. Cheap.

Recon they’ll hold together long enough for one trip 😆

Have you been or do you plan to have a look see at The Kelpies???? Well worth a look. And the pies in the cafe thing are spot on. Then just up the road there is that boat lift thing, another marvellous bit of engineering. Both near Falkirk.
As for sorting a Sat Nag i'll pass. :-|

As regards headsets , I've found them quite handy on long trips as chatting relives the boredom on long stretches of motorway . Sat-Nav voice takes priority when required at junctions so even I can't go too wrong . 8-)
It wasn't my fault , I was left unsupervised !

Bob - first stop will be the Kelpies 👍

(Excluding fuel)

First night Pitlochry - nice spa hotel 😁
It gets rougher after that 😆

Pitlochry has a salmon ladder which is worth a look . Quite interesting to see the engineering that went in just to help fish get up river

Stay at Pitlochry a couple of times.
Concur with CC the salmon ladder is a good look. Not salmon season when we were there both time but still worth a look.
Almost wish i was following you.

I use a basic Scala headset with my sat-nav. I like it when I'm in traffic, so I don't have to look at the screen while it's busy!

It's an old set of John's that I found in the shed. Two headsets in the box so I put one bracket on each crash helmet and just clip the headset onto whichever one I want to wear for the trip.

I plan to start learning at the beginning again and try to make it do what I want, instead of it choosing for itself. It always gets me where I want to go, but it goes miles further then I want to go on almost every trip

Dreaded Sat nav I set my bike preference to wandering all over the place and switch to car settings for direct routes. Often forget to change it and just press go home, then wonder why the hell I'm being taken down every side road around.
