Give him another 12 months, and your grandson will set it up for youbobsnicholson wrote: ↑Tue Mar 09, 2021 1:37 am Sat Nags and head set's the bane of my life. Still not sorted mine on the Wing, Never did sort it properly on the RT either. Sometimes i press enough buttons then it works for maybe a day, then it wont come through my helmet but will through the speakers on the bike, then no sound at all, driving me potty this tech. Ditto with the radio. I thank christ the visuals have always been there.
Why oh why soes it have to be so difficult in this day and age.

I hadn't managed to learn how to use the stupid thing properly so I suppose that will be something I need to get to grips with if I'm going to travel further afield this year.
Does the Sat Nav talk to you like Holly from Red Dwarf or Orac from Blake's 7?

It seems to have some sort of gender neutral voice. I have no idea what it is and I much preferred my old sat-nav which John had set up with a comedy version that commented rudely every time I failed to understand the instructions
My new Tom Tom might be more up to date and sensible, but how I wish I could make the stupid thing work as well as the old one!
My nearly new Garmin, in the car, spent the entire trip to Brands trying to make me turn round and head for home. I managed fine by ignoring it. I really only had it on in case of away from the route I know diversions.
Coming home, I was confident all would be well. I pushed the home button and all was well for a few miles until it decided I need to go to Rochester instead. Completely the wrong direction. Useless thing.
Hope one of my boys can sort it out. I was rather enjoying not being lost any more.

Re: Stay at home
Too many variables on my bike Sat Nav , there are three different options for types of twisty roads , choices of avoiding motorways , toll-roads , city centres and even ferry routes .
Could I manage without it and go back to maps ? Probably not .

It wasn't my fault , I was left unsupervised !
Re: Stay at home
A part of my brain stores routes that i've done before, It's all part of when I was travelling the Country trying to earn a living..... Nowadays, I can't remember what I did an hour ago but could still drive to a house in the middle of London !!!! Not much use when heading to Cornwall in the Motorhome though........ what was I saying again ?
Ok, I confess.......
