New chain???

Adjusted the chain. Cleaned it. Lubed it. All good.

Checked it again. Tight spots

Rode it to Stafford. Gave it a poke. Not happy.
Took it to a mate, who said it was fine, it will loosen off with a bit more lube.

Rode home - adjusted it again, a big looser!

It passed the mot last week, so I think I’m just being paranoid!
I really don’t fancy new chain (and sprockets) if there’s nowt wrong.

Give it a few more goes when the weather picks up???

I much prefer a tighter chain to a really loose one.... so much better throttle response and control on off but It's a fine line getting the balance right, especially with tight spots....... If it gets too bad, I'd suggest getting a new set as It makes such a difference.

Chains last well on the Striple. I have a Scottoiler, which I think makes a big difference, but it does need keeping an eye on. It's the old version and it's picky abut the drip rate. If we're having a heatwave I shut it right off as I can't get it slow enough. Winter, it needs speeding up, but despite all the faffing my chains go on and on with very little adjustment needed.
My first one, on the original bike, did 27,000 miles with only two little adjustments needed. I'm pretty good with my gear changes, so that helps, too.

When I first started using the Kawasaki I had to remember to oil the chain and learn how to adjust it. I soon realised a new chain was needed (John was not gentle with gear changes!) so had a new set of sprockets fitted at the same time. Oh, my goodness! What a difference! Lovely!

Well worth getting it done if there's any doubt. Worth every penny.

Hmmm
The ninja has a scotoiler.
Been thinking about getting one for the Fazer, but a sat nav is higher up the list at the moment. Bleddy thing is so comfortable, I want to go more places on it!

I’m pretty good at lubing it, but with it having stood for so long I will be watching closely.

Insurance in 2 weeks. (Cheaper than last year)
Might put new chain and sprocket on after Easter.
