Re: it's been a great year
Ah but no but, us northerners got together at Matlock Bath:-p
Agree wot a year, one to forget in my opinion. So many holiday cancellations. We should have done Picos Mountains (one of the reasons i bought the Wing) South America, Canada, Dubai, and Australia this year, all cancelled. However, it did mean being in the UK i rode my bike a bit more i think.
The MoHo was a great addition to the fleet and gave us the opportunity to get away for a few days here and there.
I still think it a shame not more people have persevered with this forum. You cannot have a debate with almost no people. Even Piglet has not looked in for quite sometime.
I will persevere with it unless someone tells me not to.
Once again merry Christmas to those that look in and pray for a much better 2021.

Thanks Bob, He had a good innings at 91. A bit messy at the end as we had no contact whilst he was in Hospital, I reckon he would have felt really upset that we didn't visit, He went in after a fall, they found he had Kidney Failure and then caught Covid two days after being in there. He got through the covid too, it was his kidneys that got him. Appalling communication from the Staff, Loads of phone calls without success I even got hung up on twice having got through and asking about him..... Appalling. I only managed to talk to him once and i'm not even sure it was him that I was saying goodbye to... the nurse was foreign, couldn't understand English and had no care at all. Kin Angry with the whole sorry way they treated us all.
Ok, I confess.......

I sort of know what you mean. My brother George has been in hospital for months now with Leukemia. He's in a isolation room, no visitors. They wont/cannot give him a transplant because of the situation. 2 weeks ago he got the 19 off one of the staff (couldn't have been anyone else) so he is in a bit of a sorry state.
Fingers crossed but not looking great.

Condolences Nev and best wishes for your brother Bob .
Not sure how touring on the continent will pan out next year with Brexit and Covid so probably remain here and make a long weekends out of forum meets (if we have any).
I need all to persevere with this site , this is my only contact with the outside world .bobsnicholson wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 7:25 am I still think it a shame not more people have persevered with this forum. Re: it's been a great year
I think we've all had a horrible time, although losing someone without being able to care for them is going to be something many of us will never be able to feel anything but anger and sorrow about.
For myself I'll never forget my family were with me when it seemed the end was coming, although I would quite honestly have given up with no regrets. It was during my recovery that I was most grateful for my amazing boys, caring for me and sorting out anything that was too difficult to manage myself. Also very good at turning a blind eye at my early efforts to feed myself, while learning to duck the various flying objects that I kept misjudging and knocking all over the room
The second hospital stay was not so happy. A very lonely time, before, during and after, although the family were far more traumatised then I was. But here I am, still fighting and amazed at all the lovely messages and support from all my lovely friends, online and off, during the year.
I don't think a single one of us could have imagined any of what waited for us in 2020, yet here we are, still able to make bad jokes and plan for better times.
I'm still pinning my hopes on a New Forest camping weekend next year. Something to aim for. Also hoping to catch up with everyone at some time in the future.
Shortest day soon! Things will get better.
