Other news

Post by Ninjachica »

Long story, but my dad used to keep a boat in Aberdovey so when he died, we sailed out and scattered his ashes in the place he loved.

Every year, we have gone back, be it birthday, anniversary or whatever.

This year, with Covid, I have not been able to take my mum, nor has she been able to get there herself. Finally, she had 3 days booked in a nice hotel, but now Wales is locked down again.

She spoke to the hotel, and they’ve decided not to open again until February. Mum was devastated. The receptionist could hear something wasn’t right, and followed up, so mum explained the purpose of the visit.

“Oh, we can put flowers on the grave for you” but mum explained that we have to send them out to sea from the jetty. “That’s no problem, we will do that for you”. Mum asked them to take the money for the flowers out of her deposit, but they refused, and refunded her in full.

We have just had a card from the hotel. Beautiful handwritten note inside, and a photo of the flowers drifting off from the jetty.

God bless them. There are some wonderful people in this world.
Faith restored.

There are many good people out there, but they're not the ones any of us hear about.

How nice of them to arrange all that for your Mum. Say hello to her from me :)

Really nice of them , not often you get service like that especially how the hospitality industry is struggling this year .
If you mention the name of the hotel on here I'll be sure to recommend .
It wasn't my fault , I was left unsupervised !

It was The Treffiddian, aberdovey.
Not cheap, but very nice.
Price includes evening meal, which makes it affordable.
(Excellent food 😁)

Let me know...
I’m assuming next year, as they are now closed.

It’s a lovely run from here
