What a shame, poor thing.
Much damage to the van???? And lucky you were not on the bike.

Couple weeks ago when i was going to meet the Jag garage man i just missed one that ran in front of me. On the way back people were looking at one in the road that had been hit. It was wide awake but obviously had leg issues. Don't know if they try to fix then or put them down in that situation. The people were waiting for the vet.

Smashed the Front end pretty much.... It's going to be a Repair job that's for sure...... Very lucky I wasn't on the Bike, It's a fairly easy 160 mph bit on the ZZR........... Been riding and driving this road for Decades.
Ok, I confess.......

They usually have to put deer to sleep as they're very poor patients in captivity. They often die when humans help, even with an injury that could be quite simply fixed in many other animals.

I'm glad the one you hit died right away, Nev, but what a nasty shock for you :'-(

Nasty.

I remember spotting some by the road in Scotland and thinking... you better stay there.

Must admit, I do love venison.
