Used to use them a lot, to blast down to south France.

Actually use them in Spain now that they have taken off the tolls. A couple of town all merge into each other near the coast, and it can take ages to get through. Quicker to hop on and then off at the next junction.

Love the roads in France. And Belgium, although I can't get across Belgium without needing to buy fuel, which is never a fun experience there, and Holland has good roads, too.
All full of friendly people who know how to use a motorway. If you spot someone in the distance driving badly or hogging the centre lane you just know it's going to have an English plate on when you catch up.

Best thing about Belgium is Spa Francorchamps.

Went a couple of times for the 24 hour bike races. Stunning circuit. Beautiful scenery.

Would be impressive to se the F1 cars go up eau rouge.


German motorways are great. Doing 140mph + on your bike, but you still have to watch your mirrors for the Audi s that want to pass

The best soup I've ever eaten was in Belgium. Also the first time I ever saw a bidet. Mother told us it was because foreigners liked to wash their feet before bedtime She would have considered telling us what it was really for far too rude
