General Chat......

Post by Snev »

As this Is for just letting off a bit of steam and having a general chat...... I thought it would be a good place to just spout off about being Self Employed and giving people the chance to earn a fecking decent living without having to try too hard, nor risk anything ......... not even their own money....... So for the last 15 Years, we have given one of our fitters Hundreds of jobs without any request for money whatsoever in return............ probably about 1 million ££££'s worth of income , truth be known........... and this year, He has just thrown it all back at us by spinning a whole yarn of lies , feigning Injury ........... this comes only 2 years after we caught his Son nicking Cash from Sam's purse..... which was in her Handbag, in her Desk Cupboard....... we think it was probably about £2500 in total...... anyway, I'm loving being self employed at the moment....... came out of Hospital a few moths back thinking that life would be better from now on........... how wrong was I.......
Ok, I confess.......

God, only a person that has been there done that knows eh. I could tell you some stories that would have you weeping.........but.
The 4 years i was employed in Dubai with Al Futtaim Tower Scaffolding (AFT) was heaven compared to the years self employed. I have mentioned at my peak i had 500 guys working for me, ALL LEGAL, so that was 500 headaches.
Treat them well they will shit on you, treat them as employees they will still shit on you.
Work is for people that can't play golf.

Ed has been through it.
In the end, he let all his employees go, and just set up again on his own.

My son is self employed.
I have been, but I’m lucky and now work for a successful plc.

Other people just take you for a ride😕

I was enjoying being self employed, but of course it's all gone now. My close up sight isn't good enough and I'm not yet well enough to do any lifting of the boxes. No bees now, just empty hives. Very sad to see.
I was thinking of having to go job hunting once I'm back to normal and able to drive decent distances again but this latest problem has set me back a bit.
I don't really know what to do now. I'm just living off my savings but I'll have to do something soon as I'm not old enough for my pension yet.

Still good to be alive though :) Something will turn up. It always does.

it's all bollocks, can't wait to sell up...... actually we are currently talking to our third potential Buyer as the first one was full of Shit and the second one, whilst giving us all the right vibes, was secretly contacting our suppliers and Fitters to try to set up a new business.............. Bob, I think I would have gone Mad If I had 500 employees !
Ok, I confess.......
