It’s been a challenge.
I was in Spain at the end of January, then, in February, when I would have gone again, I actually went to Oman to visit my daughter.

My return home in March, I stupidly pushed back a bit to include Easter break plus holiday, so was expecting 3 weeks with Ed. Then lockdown.

Nightmare.

Booked flight after flight, but they just kept getting cancelled (no refunds to date).

Finally got out at the beginning of July. Hoped to stay until mid September, but boss wasn’t having it! I’ve been working from home the whole time. On 80% pay.

Return to office for everyone in August. 3 days in office 2 at home... So I book my flight, then boom, quarantine. Swap flight for an earlier one, so I only miss 1 week in the office.

All shit really. Did have someone to view the house while I was there, so we might finally manage to live together again! He’s a nice chap😁.

Dog died while I was there. Devastated. Paddy won’t last much longer. Shit year.

Don’t know when I will get back out. Have to wait for quarantine to end. Fingers crossed for September, but who knows.

It was a great 12 years out there, I’m really glad we did it. Even the Monthly commute over the last 3 years has been fine, but this covid has been very hard.

Don’t get me wrong, nobody in our family has died, but I do know Family of friends that have, and people that have been ill. Puts it into perspective. It’s going to be here for a long time.

I haven’t even held my newest grandson yet.
On the positive, my daughter has now moved back from Oman. Lives 1/2 hour away.
Car needed new tyres after MOT in February, but I’ve done so few miles since then, I still haven’t replaced them!
Fazer is now paid for.
I fit back into my leathers.
I still have a job.

Ermmmmmmmmmm............ Feck.............. (I tried all sorts of other replies but settled on this having read and re-read your post) .......... One of the reasons I asked was because myself and my Delightful little bundle of joy and Cuddlesome stuff ( AKA Sam, Psyco, RE......) ..........Were thinking of doing the French Move thing...... before the Covid Thing........ i've seen really bad things coming out of Spain and France and It worries Us a lot about how this move might go......... in more ways than just being Foreigners abroad....... We have only seen a couple of people affected, one died, the other is doing fine.... Hope you have a better time soon.

I’ve loved living out there. Lots of crappy stuff, but much more great stuff.

Big garden, pool, woods and ‘mountain’ 5 minutes walk away. 6 months of good weather every year.

So glad we did it.

We never got to sample actually living in Spain. Spent weeks at a time there as you know.
Didn't realise you were selling up. All good things come to an end. I would always recommend people to "try it".

I found Spain to be just a little too hot when we went there........ Lovely food and surroundings though ...... As much as I like France, I also found the Breast area to be very windy, Brittany to be full of Brits and La Rochelle was just about Spot On............
