Fully agree with you bout Oman, Muscat far far better than Dubai. Have you been down to Salahla yet??? worth a trip.

That bike shop if I went to the correct one was a massive disappointment. Don't know what happened. I popped my head in a couple of weeks before it was due to open and it was looking great. Went in 6 months later on our next visit and it was stark, 3 bikes a café and more atmosphere on the moon.
Will have another look when we go early Sept (if they let us go).

That main road in front of you Sheik Zayed Road for years was known as The Abu Dhabi Road. It was single line of traffic each way up to 1982/3 when it became 2 lanes each way.
From the Trade Centre R/A to where Emirates Mall is now there were only 6 buildings when I got there.
Where the mall and Burj Khalifa is now that was CMC (Central Military Command) a big army base

It looks like the UAE royalty has decided that Iran is a better long-term friend than MBS (more bone saws) run Saudi Arabia and the country run by Washington D.C. (District of Criminals).

Spectacular views. Like an alien landscape compared to what's outside my window here, although both places very flat
