Goldwing

Post by bobsnicholson »

Below bike was due to be delivered to me today. They called me on Monday to say they have shut up shop and no deliveries before 14/15 April....bugger.
Goldwing Tour DCT.
Part exed the RT as don't like the hassle of showing and stuff (although the Z went very easy)
Better photos to follow when delivered.

Does it come with lessons on how to pick it up?

I’d have real trouble dragging that out of our garage. Looks perfect for Shirley though 👍

It ain't going to be dropped :D It has things on each side at 4 points (like bungs) so if it is dropped it lands on these things so don't get damaged.
And, it has a walking gear both forward and reverse so no need for pushing and pulling. And it's fully automatic.
Yes proper boring and old blokes bike (i am old), but if it keeps me riding for another couple of years then i want to believe that's ok.
Shirley told me to buy it (she's daft). Promised i would take her to J&S cafe when i get it and this Covid shit is over. She's easily pleased.

Piglet, no white ones for immediate delivery

A friend took one out for an all day test ride. He loved it.

Wonder if I could have walking gears on the Street Triple. That would solve my moving about troubles.

Hope you get to take Shirley out on it very soon.

If you lived in The Colonies, you and Shirley would have to wear matching gear and have a plush animal strapped to the bike.

I kid you not. Prior to and after ordering the Wing I must have watched and read 50 reviews on the bike. To say I and all the reviewers were impressed is the understatement of the year. I think in a few reviews the 2 things that were mentioned on a detrimental side were 1. the price about 10 times.(somebody once said you can't take it with you). 2. The front suspension bottoming out on very bad pot holes. One reviewer said he was 22 stone, he put the suspension on rider+luggage and it never happened again.

Not to everyone's taste I agree, horses for courses I guess.
For me and the type and amount of riding I do i think it will suit fine. What with dicky thumb joints, knees, hip, all heading in the painful direction the DCT and reverse gear will be a massive aid. It's also lighter by 45Kgs and smaller than the white one I had. AND it will do the same amount of miles on 4 gals as the old one needed 5 gals :-p

Now, if only I can work out how to use the Radio and Sat Nav sound through my helmet

Really looking forward to it being delivered :D

You lot (well you 3) stay healthy..........and DONT hoard

I think it’s a good move for you.

I doesn’t matter what it is, if it makes you smile 👍

Hope you get to enjoy it soon.

One of my very rare technical achievements was linking my sat-nav to my crash helmet. And then I had to replace the unit on the crash helmet. Got that working at the first attempt! Then the sat-nav died and had to be replaced. That was a little more complicated but eventually I won. :)

You know how to post pictures on here. I predict you'll have everything working in no time :)
