Hibernated

Post by bobsnicholson »

After that white out recently i decided i wont be going on the bikes again for awhile so put them in hibernation for the winter. Feel a bit guilty as the BM is manky and i didn't clean it. No TCP 47 n arf spray, nowt. Disconnected the battery's and threw a few towels over them that's it.
The Z will be sold in spring.

Shame about the z, unfortunately a few miles for a test drive, ride aren't always a true reflection of compatability
We got lucky at piccadillly alfa in Knaresborough let us take a car down a cracking bit of road from town to countryside testing the cars full potential, it moved well was a great car with a good price
something just didn't feel right, I moved on

And another thing apart from getting MOTs in July we've had two hibernating beasts asleep in the garage all year round, could have probably done with a start up every now and then, so they are basically still prepped for winter just last winter, the milage difference from the previous Mot was sad,
On the bright side
we are saving the planet 🌏
Still low mileage bikes not that they are forsale
Didn't have to buy more tyres for a year saving £££
Didn't have buy a new helmet either saving more £££
Still had to pay insurance and tax to go nowhere - £££

Ashamed to say it but the FJR went into hibernation when I got back from France in September . It wasn't intentional , just haven't had the time to ride it since . :emb:

Sarah, i have never ever test rode a new or old bike before purchase. I base my purchases on reviews i have read. Not smart i know, then again i'm not smart anyway.

Why don't you SORN the bikes?????? still have to have insurance though.

That's no problem. I'm keeping two on the road all winter. I'll trash the planet single handed :D I've even had four new tyres on the Ford Fusion. I never mind paying for bike tyres but it somehow hurts more when it's for the car.

It hurts when 2 new bike tyres that will last 8K-10K miles cost more than 4 new truck tyres that will last 40K-50K miles.

Piglet ,

How do tyre prices in the US compare with the UK for the average car/truck/bike ? I'm guessing you're not ripped off as much as the British public with the likes of VAT (Value Added Tax) . :tdn:
