So, took my M5 for MOT today. Tyres/tires just scrapped through so thought i would order a new set. Michelin, same as whats on now (but with more tread).
With discount blah blah only £1,198.00. nice.
Having them fitted tomorrow.
Need a lay down.

Just had 4 Bridgestone run-flats put on my 5 Series for a paltry £660 .

Black and round
No idea what I had put on my Civic, but they didn't cost that much!
(Mind you, I only put 2 on!)
Thinking about it... new discs and pads cost more than the tyres!

If it ain't fun, don't do it
Re: Car tyre/tire talk
I thought I'd splashed out at £180 for four tyres. Plenty of tread left on the old ones, but they'd started to perish due to extreme age. I don't care what my bike tyres cost but spending money on the car is quite painful. Recently I've started to pamper it a bit more as it's served me so well for the last 10 years but I'd still rather spend it on the bike.

Re: Car tyre/tire talk
I think if i had come home and started trolling the interweb i may have saved myself £100/150. Then had the hassle of ordering, making another appointment for fitting etc etc. Whereas the MOT centre where the M5 was done was/is a tyre centre anyway and he said he can fir tomorrow morning. The convenience is worth more to me.

Re: Car tyre/tire talk
I find that 4 tyres for a car/truck usually cost less than 2 tyres for a bike.

Re: Car tyre/tire talk
Last time I had tyres on the bike I took the whole thing in and waited for it to be done. It was certainly less bother then when John used to take the wheels out for me and because I take it to a place with very nice men there, I paid a bit less then most of their other customers because John used to get all the workshop MOT's done there, so we get a nice discount.

Re: Car tyre/tire talk
So, on and on, took the car this am for the new tyres, they said about an hour. Went for walkies. Came back, problem, they cannot get the front left wheel off, something to do with one of the wheel nuts. Another hour later he says take the car with 3 new tyres on, bring back tomorrow. He has to buy a special tool to get this problem nut off. So another morning knackered of the short time i am here.
