Headed out to Crich and Tideswell today. Set off into the Peaks, then decided to do them in the opposite order.
Bimbling along, frequently thinking:
I don’t think I want to be on this road
I’m sure I need to be further north
I think this is right
I wonder what this village is
Where am I now
Gosh, that’s a nice house, even Bob couldn’t afford that
Feck me, there’s the Yonderman (Emma, I found it -twice )
Oh, I know where I am now
Yeah, found the right pub!
I think I’ll head this way
Ooo, pretty view (pull in for photo)
Boring bit down the A6
Pass Rowsley where I met CC
Through Matlock Bath
Unexpected left turn for Crich that takes me along a ridge with a stunning view
Then head back home (making good progress), as mum will want tea...
Get back, to find her on her way out to the pub

Re: Peaky
Sounds like you had a nice run NC.
Weather has not been that great for bikes recently eh. Done a few short round the block type runs.
Next time i go a "run" i intend to go to Yonderman for a bacon butty.
The last month i have devoted a good bit of time to our new toy.
Did Tatton Park Classic yesterday, Great event and so much to look at.
The green jag below is the jag Pippa Middleton left Kate & Wills wedding in. But more famous is the fact that this Jag is the very first Series 1 off the production line and was owned by the great (if you know him) Norman Dewis who passed away recently. Mike the present owner, with the long grey hair at the back of the car tells some great stories.
Ours is the Blue one next to it. Get's an awful lot of attention.

Work is for people that can't play golf.

I often wonder how many VW campers are still on the road. We have one on the farm and everywhere I go I see them out and about. People always say how rare they are but I suspect there is an endless supply as they seem to be increasing in numbers every summer

Having driven a VW Type II camper over the Rocky Mountains (took to the shoulder to let the large trucks pass me), I hope to never drive one again. No power, no brakes, no handling, no heat, but an awful lot of racket coming from the back.Beelady wrote: ↑Sun Aug 18, 2019 10:33 pm I often wonder how many VW campers are still on the road.
