Thought i would go to Chequers, Oulton Park for a tea and a butty (sandwich for posh people).
Free practice and entry to all areas for a bike race this weekend, Wirral 100 Club Bike Championships???
AND all the BSB teams were there testing for the bank holiday BSB Championships.
Nice to have close access to all the bikes, trailers, motorhomes, oh and riders.
AND, don't they go fast, shit myself and i was only stood watching
looking in some of these race trailers, Christ they are packed with stuff, and some are cleaner than a hospital theater (spose that's easily done)
Anyway a great couple of free hours.
AND, the sausage and egg butty was spot on.............but not free.

Re: Surprise Surprise
That sounds good. I'm quite envious. I'm always amazed at the speed when I watch the racing. TV doesn't really show it as it really is. I can't imagine how it must feel like to be that good.
I smile when I see the proper race teams set up. I wish I'd figured out the picture posting thing on here. I would have posted one of our properly professional team race van and trailer that I sometimes go to crew for. We are always the cheapest, tattiest team in the paddock but when it comes to racing we probably take it just as seriously. I'm usually first in the queue for the lap times when they're issued. I get the bikes up on their paddock stands and then hobble off to race control as fast as I can after every race.
I was promoted at the last round at Snetterton. I'm now trusted to start and warm up the 600. I don't touch the 400 though. That belongs to a lady rider, who may well be one of my bestest friends but of course, being a woman she likes to look after her own bike. I'm allowed to pass her tools when she's fettling as she knows I'll put things back in the right place as soon as she's finished. Men always walk away and leave the tools lying around so they're not often allowed to play

Re: Surprise Surprise
It's great having somewhere like Oulton park minuets away. I call in (Mondays closed) quite often for tea and a walkabout. There is always something going on, testing, corporate days, cheap racing. One i am looking forward to next month is a big classic and vintage event (i think bikes and cars).
And of course the big one in Sept Goodwood Revival. We are all ticketed up, motor home booked, pitch confirmed and a good long weekend shall be had (Shirley is coming for the first time at a race event, apart from the ones i used to race in). The classic bike racing at this event is especially competitive, love it.
No Assen this year Bee?????
