That rain! The only wet day during weeks and weeks of dry weather. Same thing happened the next time I went there. I stopped for lunch on my way to a rally in Chippenham. I was wearing all the waterproofs but it was such lovely weather when I arrived that I took most of it off as I was far too hot. Within twenty minutes of setting off again I was soaked to the skin and it carried on raining all weekend, so I had a second trip back down the motorway, struggling to see where I was going. It stopped about 5 miles from home, where it was obvious there hadn't been a drop of water all weekend. Typical !

I wish I could put the bikes away for winter but I just can't do it.

I would park the Striple until the roads are clean and ride the Kwakker instead.

I considered it but on dry days the Striple comes out. It is a lot more comfortable then the Kawasaki, although I keep tweaking away at it and it's a lot less painful then when I first started using it. It's just a matter of getting the bars and levers just right so I'm sure I'll get there eventually.

It seems I may have to go and have a stay in hospital for a while before long, so they'll both be getting a three month holiday. I'm really hoping it can be while winter's here. I have so much planned for next year and I'll be very sad if I can't do it. I probably have to find a job, too as once my back has been sorted out I'm supposed to try and be more careful. Lifting heavy boxes about is no longer going to be possible, so the future's suddenly looking a bit uncertain. I need my Triumph. It's my comfort blanket.

Apologies for the delay , but been working abroad and only now catching up on the site .............
... Had a quick inspection at the weekend ; when I got home ; to see if she was alright and realised she's going to need two new tyres before going much further so it'll be next year before going anywhere . (I then went into the house to reunite with the wife )

I’ve got a list of jobs due on the Fazer.
It might get a few more miles on before Christmas, but unlikely now.

Last ride was 9 days ago.

Better here, for now. Non stop gales for several days have seen the last of the leaves off the trees and off the roads, too. Even the salt's gone, washed away in the rain, so for the last two days I've been out, once on each bike. I meant to leave the Striple inside for the rest of winter but yesterday was so nice I couldn't resist. Only a short run as I had a busy day, but I enjoyed it and also found time to go and play in the Triumph shop, where they made me welcome and even the new yoof remembered how I like my coffee and delivered it to my comfy chair.
I need to show my face more often as I am planning to be one of the first to get a test ride on the next incarnation of the Street Twin. Most likely contender for my final bike, so I hope it's all they promise it will be. Probably have to sell the house to afford one, but I'll worry about that if I fall in love with it.

What about the 2019 Speed Twin? Only bad thing is no Imperial Purple and Fusion White paint.

I might have kept John's T120 if my feet had been big enough. Very annoying that you can't swap foot pegs from one Bonnie to another, but apparently it's because of the different frames. The Speed Twin is on the sit on it list. If it fits I'll take it out and give it a whirl. I see it's getting a new chassis. I really hope it's not going to be yet another bike that doesn't suit my special, short legs and tiddly little feet.
