New bike

Post by bobsnicholson »

Cancelled the order for the ADV 350. Dealer ignoring me.
On March 20th i have delivered to my house a Honda X-ADV 750 Special Edition. 1 of 56 (don't know where the 56 comes from)
Having matching Top Box and heated grips fitted.
White (what other colour is there :D ) with the new 2023 decals. Say so myself it looks quite smart.
Daft money for a bloody scooter :'-(

Of course it being the UK the bike that was promised delivery last Thursday never arrived. On contacting they say they are waiting for a part to fix the rack for the top box.
You couldn't write the effing script could you.
Of course they never even had the decency to contact to to advise.
It's utter bollocks. How the flip do these people stay in business.

I don't have much time for dealers, although my latest Triumph dealer goes above and beyond for me. They don't scatter rose petals in my path, but they have all the time in the world for me and I shall stay loyal until standards slip.
I once waited for half an hour in a Harley dealers. For once I had money. Real money, in my pocket, in notes. I wanted to buy the Harley I knew John wanted and I was overlooked several times, in favour of male customers.
The fourth time it happened I walked out and never went back.
John was spitting feathers when he found out as I paid a big chunk off the mortgage instead. :)
I've got to the age now where my patience runs out quickly. Shame it hadn't back then. I should have made a scene.

Many years back, a chap came into our showroom all tatood and scruffy, i had a chat about his kitchen, did a site visit and quote and a few days later he paid cash.. we have since done 6 kitchens for him and his family all because i didn't ignore him or judge him on his appearance...
Ok, I confess.......

I don't think it's that Nev as when i went i had already confirmed the bike over the phone and paid a deposit (remember i don't test ride bikes). When my brother and i went down to the showroom a few day's later to look at the accessories we went in the Range Rover with the private reg 22 BN dressed reasonably smart and parked right in front of the shop window. Of course Simon, the salesman i dealt with on the phone was off (they always seem to have a day off the day you go down).
Paid a futher £850 on accessories and given the promise all was available.

I do agree with you i don't make an effort to dress up to go and buy a car or bike and expect to get the same service as someone dressed in their fancy togs.

It's just bloody bad service in my view.

I still don't know when the bike will arrive and it's paid for in full.
