New battery.

Post by Beelady »

The Kawasaki battery gave up. It's been heading that way for over a year and the bike also has a fast slow puncture in the front wheel.
I had a little trouble finding a new battery. I wanted a Yuasa, but the Italians seem to have bought them all, and wanted £30 postage. Halfords also had one, but they wanted over £100, so no sale.
In the end I got a Vertex battery, which seems to have good reviews. M and P sent one overnight so got it on yesterday. I put the meter on it and it was pretty much fully charged and the bike started as if someone had put a rocket under it. Looked a lot like it too as it hadn't been started since I did its ACF50 a few weeks ago. :D

Everything seems to be in short supply and really expensive lately but at least you have a nice new Battery so You'll be confident it will start ! I was a bit worried about starting the Tuono but it fired up really easily, they normally have a lazy starter but I reckon this one has been up graded..... did you see my little Video ?
Ok, I confess.......

Jeeez how much. 😲😲

The ninja seems to eat them.
Stripped the alarm out years ago, but the batteries only seem to do a couple of years.

The Fazer one lasted 8 years - then i bought it... 🤦‍♀️
If it ain't fun, don't do it

I didn't think it was too expensive. It was around £48. That came with free overnight delivery and it's the first battery it's had that we know of since it came down South, about 10 or 11 years ago.
First it belonged to Phil. He sold it to John who left it to our boy Stuart, who's lent it to me for the last 5 years and now it's mine. I've owned it for three days now.
I think Stuart feels guilty that he wanted me to sell my house and move here instead. Also I imagine he was wondering if I was going to send him a bill for the battery. Either way he's given it to me, so I'm very pleased. :D
