New Shed?

Or maybe not.
My new house has a garden shed, around 8 foot by 6 foot. Trying to cram the contents of the old workshop in has proved a challenge, even after selling most of the big stuff and finding anything in there involves a lot of box moving, followed by trying to get it all back in again afterwards. really frustrating and on top of that the floor is collapsing and damp.
I thought I'd better bite the bullet and get something a little bigger. Perhaps a 10x6 instead might make storing and using everything a bit easier, so I invited someone to quote. At the very most, including a new base as the old shed is just on rotten wood and gravel, I guessed at £1,500. After all, it is just a garden shed.
£4,564 !!!!!!!!!!!
I think I'll try elsewhere.

My advice it to look online or EBay.... My 16x10 was @£1500 delivered but not erected.... It had 1 inch Flooring and 21mm cladding..... don't even bother looking at the superstore stuff, it's all very flimsy and a bit rubbish.....

That's my plan. I started with the people I liked best who have a brilliant local reputation, but there are plenty of other options. I need a new base, whoever does it, so will have to live with all the tools etc. in the conservatory for a while while I get that sorted out.
I rather liked the idea of throwing money at it and just passing out tea and buns now and again but there's a limit, and that quote was so far over it I didn't know if I would laugh or cry.

We had one of our chaps do it all as I couldn't see myself ever finishing it. We just used a bag of Pea Chippings for the base, so that was way less work.

I'm going for slabs on sand. I had plenty of practice doing the base for the workshop and that was six times bigger. I'm good at getting things like that done, as long as I take it slowly. I set my kitchen timer for sitting down and resting time and although it's frustrating it seems to work for me.
I've just finished removing a short length of hedge that had grown to over three feet wide. I left tall stumps so I can get some leverage on them when I tackle the roots. Pretty pleased with my new garden progress so far.

I had strategically placed breeze blocks for my shed. Lots of them. Level!

Kept the shed off the ground, and air passing for ventilation.

I suspect it became a good hedgehog spot later on
