Brexit has finally scuppered the ninja, so I've bought an MT09

2013, with only 31k kms on the clock. Mint.
Cant wait to get out on it in a couple of weeks.

So, realised the the ITV / MOT was due 7 June, not july like i thought.

Went on line to book (you have to have an appointment) and there was nothing available for the next 3 months. Bogger.

Decided to risk it. Checked the lights and horn (had to fix the horn) and off we went.
Straight to the front. Very odd, there's normally a nig queue. Went in the office (pay, test, sticker) and said i didn't have an appointment. She looked stunned and garbled at me. Ed then arrived. I told him it was going to fail. Chain is shot, and the brakes are horrible.

Trot to different window, explain why I'm here (need an MOT!!) and she gives me an appointment for 1 hour later. Off to a bar then.

Apparently they are doing some sort of work to rule, and have cancelled all bookings on line. Most spanish can't be bothered to go to the test centre to make a booking, so the guadia are having a great time fining people!

1 hour later, back in the queue, pay, wait for the little man. Beep, flash flash etc and i get my sticker!
Wtf

Seriously?

Fair enough, now fully legal for 2 years.

Ed says chain is fine, so on Sunday we to to Pedreguer. I refuse to go down the motorway.

Bike is already booked in for replacement chain and sprockets.

Keep having to remind myself that i no longer have to covert miles/kms. 50 is 50!

Lack of screen is fine up to around 115. After 130, helmet starts to lift!

Chain is shoite. Brakes are terrible. Brakes are actually great until the last 5 feet before stopping, then they pulse and make things interesting!
Warped disc?

Get back and check the discs. Fine. Probably a sticking bearing, or possibly lack of use.

Should get it back on Wednesday evening, all perfect!

It's a hoot.
Very nimble.
Easy to move around.
Can't wait to play on it properly. Off all of next week, so will enjoy it then.

Shirley has ORDERED me to go buy a new bike.
I paid £65 for a seat lowering kit to be fitted from 830mm to 800mm or less.
Just measured the height................yes 840mm, bastards.
Never ever ever believe what a salesman tells you (you would think i would have know better).

I believe they are restricted to @ 132, either way, it's a bit unpleasant at those speeds.... The brakes were a bit wooden and not brilliant at the slow speed stuff, I used to find them a bit juddery at slow stopping speeds, Is yours ABS ? Hope you are having fun, It's the engine and the way the power/torque comes in that make it such fun. I miss my Gen 1.
