I was 1 mph over the range to qualify for the course, so no. I will have to accept the point and fine.

The thing is, if you were clocked at 76, your speedo probably read 82

Oh i am sure i was going much faster than that, it is a Gold wing don't forget 
The paperwork said i was doing 76. Turns out the cut off for qualifying for a course is 75.

Called round to see my father last night and he was most upset about having been caught speeding . £100 fine and 3 points .
53 mph in a 40 , not bad for a eighty eight year old .
