Bikers' Banter

After two years visiting portland Newground Carparks, where we were legally allowed to park up over night, The Council have now banned all campers, closed off two of the four carparks and erected signs threatening big fines, clamping and towing away any vehicle breaking these new rules, on top of that they have blocked off many of the viewing points with huge boulders.... Someone in the Council must really hate people camping.

How dare you go out and enjoy the countryside and views .

Exactly.... but honestly, Portland Council make more U Turns than Ms Trusst.... They allowed parking up, opened the Toilets 24/7 and were talking about installing a chemical Toilet waste point, they arranged for some wheelie Bins and even had Wardens on site to take our money and look after the place.. now wer'e all banned....

Ha ha..... all day long we have Merlins and Wildcats flying around.... and at night, we can hear the Factory machines running faintly...... They are just completing the build of a Massive Shed.... It's Huge as in Gigantic..... I think even Bob would be impressed.... secretly I think they are gearing up for an order for 40 odd Choppers and the shed is for Logistics.... the company that dealt with all that was called Wincanton Logistics but I think It's been taken over now.... have a google at Leonardo's Website....... I know so many people there now having been involved with Westlands Cricket Club and We've done Thousands of Kitchens over the years, many of which are for Westlands Workers...

Well having Emailed Portland Council for clarification, I received a reply that said "They were still allowing Overnight Campers in one car park of the original four.... So I just spent the past two nights there watching the Rain and terrific Thunder storms...... No pics as camera set on normal mode....
