Took my son's filthy car for a manual car wash yesterday.
I was turned away in shock when the man said sorry cannot wash that car it's too dirty, go figure.

PS, a car wash down the road DID wash it for Dhs10 extra.

There is a law in Oman, that says you have to keep your car clean.

T&J have a man that comes to their house and washes theirs each week (he does a bunch on the compound).

Meanwhile, the Rover gets done twice a year 😆

Same here.
Like Oman we have car washers that sand paper the cars clean on the "estate". Wont let them within 100 Mts of any of my cars. I even banned all my staff that had company cars from using them.

Lol

Their chap is ok. He maintains the garden too, as well as doing odd jobs.

Too cold.

Have to scrape off the car if I go out within the next hour!

May well stay in bed, then take the bikes out at lunchtime 😎😁

Do cars with automatic transmissions also get washed? :-p

I was kicked out of a car wash for having a vehicle that was too dirty - they did not like the 5+ stone of mud packed on the underside from driving around a wet construction site all day.

Our Latvian car washers always say "dirty car" when I take it to them. They always wash it for £5 as they know I will tip them another £5 which goes into their pockets. John used to complain bitterly when he took my car to them. They refused to touch it for less then £15, which he would hand over grudgingly. Just goes to show what a smile and a polite refusal to pay more can do. :D

Tip a 100% :'-( you have spent too much time in yankeeland

Here a good hand car wash including a shammy dry, vacuum, dusting down inside, and tyre bright is about Dhs35 (£7.50). i tip a further Dhs5 or, if i am in a good mood and they have done the wheels properly i tip Dhs10.

If I take the civic to the chap in Uttoxeter, it’s £6 and a rubbish job (so I only go there when I’m desperate).

The chaps in Derby are much better and charge the same. They get a tip.

Yes, I could do it myself, but I don’t.

There are quite a few bike valets around now. Not sure what I think about that idea. I use washing time as mini-service time.
