Did something just now i don't ever remember doing in the UK before.
I went up to the village butchers on the sccot (less than a mile) wearing flip flops, shorts and a T shirt. I felt so uncomfortable i will not be doing it again. Limited cloathing yes, no cloathing, no.

It's only in the UK that you are expected to wear full kit.

The Policia Local wear short sleeved shirts 😁

Exactly though..... I have history wearing shorts and Tee's and It always makes me smile when my friends question it...... yet when they journey abroad and hire bikes which they are totally new to, they wear next to nothing because it's hot !!!!!! ..... to be honest here, I just don't ride when it's hot as i can't be bothered dressing up like a power ranger and sweating like a twat..... so `i tend to keep the bikes in the garage or wear light clothing and risk it............. not on any long trips though, just around the local area...... just like the Lycra brigade do......

That's it, we are so conditioned to wearing the "correct" kit AND to suit the weather that when we get abnormal weather, read hot, we still don the same heavy BLACK gear (the worse colour for heat).
I have warm weather gear but yesterday that little almost Mr Godiva trip made me very conscious

Much of my riding is frequent and local.... If I were to wear "All the Gear" but only ride 2 miles and then have to stand in someones Kithen for two hours, it would absolutely kill, so I don't...... If I'm in and around town and it's hot, I wear what is comfortable same as going to the shops...... there is nothing nice about excess heat and It's too big a distraction in my opinion, that's why I much prefer riding in the other 9 months of the year mostly.... but it is all down to personal choice, we all know the risks.
