Went to Titteworth today via some spectacular country roads. Love to know whats in a sat nav mind  :geek:
Anyway i should have said Tittesworth HALF lake, someone has dranks all the water.
And if there is one thing that might put me off biking is these crap roads. Sick to death of my skeleton being shook up. How you young uns on those silly sports type bikes manage is beyond me.
Anyway a really nice ride..........bloody aching now.

Can't say I'm too much of a Titty fan personally but I guess one ride is as good as another.......... 8-) i went and sat on a new (Gen 3) Busa a few days back.... bugger me was it cramped..... or it might just have been that I'm older and fatter ..... either way I was a tad dissapointed ........... might just have to admit my age and steer clear of these Sporty bikes now..............

Was looking at one in Bill Smiths Chester recently.
To be honest, and i know they go well, i wondered what people saw in them. Did nowt for me.
Then again i'm old (bit plump).
Understand why the speed freaks love em though.

To be honest though Bob..... It's just really about the speed.... or acceleration mostly.....In their day, nothing came close in the thrill stakes ... the first carb fed Gen 1's were the absolute speed kings some were even capable of 200mph....... but this new one (Restricted) is very dissapointing compared to the original one (not restricted)...... and even less powerfull than the two Gen 2 bikes which were 20 or so BHP more powerfull ( but still restricted) .... on a good day when no one was looking, you could certainly have some real fun but the latest Gen 3 bike is some £6000 more ??????? so the whole reason for buying one is a bit lost now.... For me now, I'm happy just hooning about on two wheels.... whatever the power..... ten years back, it was bikes likethe Busa though..... Age does play a part I guess.

When i were a lad  i used to have exactly the same desires, acceleration, speed. The old origonal Bonny's, and BSAs, Triton's were the ones to have...........and i had some. But as you say age is a calming factor.
Having said that, put this daft G.W in sport mode and trust me the acceleration is certainly there, and when i have my mad up it don't mind a bit of leaning in the bends ;-)
Now the new scoot SH 125i is a different story...............but it does have a curry hook

Being so young ! I missed all the British stuff, just started on a crap honda ss50 ..... then a bloke with a GSX1100ET gave me a ride and damned near frightened me to death.... that was 1980 and I was still 16 but the experience of such acceleration left it's mark.... After doing my test in 1981, it was a series of ever bigger bikes, I remember test riding the 1987 FJ1200 and was blown away with just how fast it was so I paid a deposit......... fast forward 35 years and my FJ1200 is terrible to ride, so heavy and cumbersome with no real poke ,the MT09 blows it away totally...... even though in it's day it was one of the fastest accelerating bikes along with the FZR1000, GSXR1100 and GPZ900R..... The tech and power have moved on considerably over the years that's for sure and my mindset has too but I still love acceleration whatever the bike........... a friend had an interstate Wing back in the early 80's which he let me ride and it was like a magic carpet, lots of creamy smooth power and luxury.... I certainly see the appeal.

I'd like to think that I could still ride a sports bike and be able to stand up straight after getting off . :D
