They seem to have issues with rain during MotoGP weekend 240 miles to the west.
Is the drive an issue these days, since one has to cross through SA?

Dubai to Qatar would be about 6/7 hour drive, 400 miles, however to get a travel/transit visa through SA would take forever and far from guaranteed anyway.
