Just bought new jacket and trousers. Didn’t come with all the usual pads, but they were included in a deal. (Probably saved £3
)
Anyway, just about to go to bed, and fitted them, ready for a possible ride tomorrow.
Then I read the label...
Replace pads every year.
WTAF? Seriously?
I’ve never replaced any of mine.
Is that really a thing?

It will probably be cheaper to replace the jacket and trousers than buy the bit's, it's a sales trap eh.

I certainly can’t see me replacing them!
On another note, they are so comfortable, and the tall ones actually fit me properly, so I’ve bought a second pair to take to Spain

Once I read your post I emailed Bull it and asked what they recommend for their armour. They use the same as Moto Girl and they said replace it if you have an accident and can see any damage, otherwise they would expect them to last at least three years. Because the newer soft armour is so flexible it's possible that they may start to show signs of wear or cracking eventually, which is when you should replace them. They have no fixed time they should last, that's just their own advice and they can't comment on anything other manufacturers could be using, which is fair enough. They seemed quite interested in the question though and say they will look into it with their suppliers.

Well done Bee, thank you for that
It is certainly the softest armour I’ve come across. New fangled stuff.
With it being in trousers, it will get taken out more often than jacket armour, so I can wash them. At least that means it’s easy to spot any damage or wear.
