House Move

Oh, so close this time. I should have exchanged yesterday afternoon but my buyer's solicitor was still on holiday and his deputy messed up and we missed the deadline.
Monday is the next target date, with completion due on 12th August. So hard to concentrate on anything while I wait and meanwhile I am leading a complicated double life so that all my neighbours, old and new, think I'm around most of the time.
Yesterday I spent the afternoon in Westgate, getting visits from friends on bikes and then spent the night camping in the new house. I waited until some of the people living on my street were about and said good morning to several of them before jumping back into the car and heading home to Brenzett.
So far the strategy is working. I have a spy for my new place and she reports that the new neighbours are quite confused about what I actually do and why I'm so busy coming and going. I haven't actually lied but have hinted that I'm really busy with work, but looking forward to retiring very soon.
I'm still trying to work out how I ended up with two houses and hoping HMRC haven't noticed yet as I don't want to be hit with double stamp duty for my second home. I know I could claim it back once the sale of the old house goes through, but I don't have the money to give them
What a strange existance it's turned into. I am considering the merits of strong drink and only sobering up once it's all over.
I am longing to get on the 'phone and book my Striple into the shop to be fixed. Can't wait to get out on it again
