Welsh Wales

Sun was shining so time for a blat.
Fancied going around Lake Vyrnwy.

Headed west, but couldn't really remember how to get there. Picked up mostly the right roads!
Really ought to look at a map sometime.

Had a coffee in the café. Jeez, service was slow. (But i did hear people commenting on how nice the baguettes were)

Rode right around the lake. Never done that before.

Headed home, but missed a left hand turn on a corner. At this point, i have some random bike behind me, so i don't stop. Just figure I'll take the next left. A mile or do later, there's a crossroad sign. I signal left and slow. Ah. It's not much wider than the bike. This should be fun. Do it.
Beautiful scenery. Worth the detour 😄

Take the ring road around Shrewsbury but turn off one roundabout too early 🙄 End up following my nose to go east, until i suddenly recognise where i am. Yey.

Change of route for the last leg home.

Brilliant day out.

Did get followed by a red gold wing at one point, but i managed to shake him off.

I like seeing the route. What a clever bit of kit. :)

I'm so glad you don't have a Satnav to spoil all the fun of having a sense of direction and a desire to explore unkown roads...... That lane with the Mud is my sort of road....... we have masses of them here and each one has Foraging potential..... Nice App, great pics.

I do have a satnav, but rarely set it.
Only use it if I'm totally lost, or specifically need to be somewhere

I have no problem at all with tiny lanes like these. Often go down them in the Peak District

Just googled it. 1hr 40mins from me (so i should do it in about 45mins :-p ). Like the look of it. Make a nice run so it's next on my list.
Thanks for the heads up Brid.

I nearly did Bala afterwards, but I'll save it for another day.

Definitely going to spend a weekend doing the Snowdonia 360

Few weeks ago we had a couple of nights at Hotel Ty'n-Y-Cornel on lake Tal-Y-LLyn another spectacular riding region although we went in the car.

I often go to Aberdovey, so i know tal-y-llyn

Took some photos there, when the lake was like a millpond. The reflection was breathtaking.

CC doesn't do farcebook. Not heard from him for a while. I think i have his number, ought to chase him up.
