Shocking

Several years ago, a friend of my children was involved in a terrible accident. He was riding to work on his bicycle and a land rover pulled out on him.

His face and head went through the side window. His body didn't. You can use your imagination. Broken bones . Broken face. His head was held together by a doctor until the ambulance arrived - it happened very near a surgery.

It took years for him to recover, but he did.

Reason for posting... 5 days ago, he was cycling to work, and a Mercedes pulled out on him. Same road. He is fighting for his life, but this time it is looking worse (if possible).
We are all in shock.

All i can say is, ride your bikes, eat cake or ice cream. No one knows what tomorrow will bring.

Heard today. He's not going to make it.
Been married for 9 months.

They are currently arranging donor parts.
Something good out of the devastation.

That's terrible news and terrible bad luck for all concerned..... I guess others will have a new lease of life though. How often we as Bikers see the dangers and lack of awareness of us on the roads......... just yesterday I had to avoid a learner who did not look at a juction just 100 yards from my house, a quick rev of the loud pipe made her look but it was the instructor who slammeb the brakes on ...... another near mis. :'-(

I use my horn, the loudest on any bike or car for that matter.

How sad for everyone concerned. Life really can be so unfair.

I have the same as Nev on my number plate and John and I always lived for today. I think he and then I have proved that you really never do know what's waiting for us.

Organ donation? Yes. My family know how I feel about this, so hopefully, if the unthinkable ever happens they won't be shocked at being asked or have to try and guess what I'd want. It's leaving something really, really special behind for someone who will have a chance at a better life because of it.
I really think it's one of the most amazing things that anyone can do.
