Well, how good was that, meeting up with old and new ex and new forum members.
Emma, it was a pleasure to meet you after so many near misses.

Great ride down to Super Sausage, all country roads, fantastic. Met Bridgette??? a Super Sausage, chat, food, nice tea and off once again via all country roads/lanes to Basingstoke. I purposely took Brid/g the pretty way to look at some nice villages :-p (or maybe the sat nav got confused).

Met up with CC and his good lady at the hotel in Basingstoke. (Gareth being a tight bastard paid half the room rate i paid), anyway, a few libations in the evening and good rubbish chat was enjoyed by all (i think).

The ride home was memorable, upto the A34 it was torrential, clearish on the A34 and M40 then it came down again in biblical fashion.
On the M6 traffic came to a stop. filter through for mile after mile, got to the front and it turns out a nasty crash on the south bound and the helicopter had just landed on the M6. 45 mins wait before we had to follow one of those toy cops at 25 mph for about 10 mile.
Anyway got home 6.30pm with a very very sore bum and nobody to rub it better...........so i went out for a pint.

All in all a fantastic weekend and thanking one and all for making it such. Ta too much
PS. would be grateful for pics to be posted as i didn't take any, mainly cause i didn't have a camera :'-(

I was so pleased to see you all. I wish there'd been even more time to chat. John would have really enjoyed being there, but it was a great way to say goodbye, with so many memories and lots of laughter.
The journey home was horrendous, of course. It stopped lashing down about 10 miles from home, but the gale force winds that replaced it were pretty scary, although I do get lots of practice as it's always windy here.
Thanks so much for being there today. It was a happy occasion, which is just what I wanted for John's send off. I took his favourite route home for the first part of the journey, so I could scatter the ashes on some fast bends that he always used to really enjoy, but after that I pulled over and asked the sat-nav for the fastest route home. I caught sight of Phil in the distance once or twice but apart from that it was just a matter of concentrating very hard the rest of the way home.
It was a special day for me and one I shan't forget. Now I think I'm going to sleep for about a week. Must be getting old. I can't remember feeling this tired for ages :)

Good to meet everyone , some for the first time . I'm sure I heard Bob say at some point " I was like the son he never had" ;-)
Hopefully we can do it all again some time under different circumstances.

It took about two hours to get the bike clean again this morning. I wish I'd had even more time to spend with every one of you, but it was nice to see so many smiles.
I gave in to temptation this evening and opened the box of chocolates, thank you Bob. I haven't bought any sweets for months. They're really very moreish and my willpower level is rather low at the moment. :)

Did you make an offer on a white Burgman 650 Executive? I heard someone is likely selling one.
