I've stopped repairing the Dyson and bought a new one. Anything that means less pain is worth paying for. I have one of the very light cordless ones and it was only when it broke (again) that I remembered how tiring and painful one of the ordinary upright ones was to use.
One of the few times I've been happy to hand over money, knowing life will be better for it
No. No house hunting for me until this is sold. I'm lucky to have the use of a studio with a wood burner to live in temproarily and space for the hens, bees, cat and all my wordly goods, too.
It's not going very well though. I've just discovered that my buyer is a lying bastard and has wasted two whole months, deliberately holding the sale up because he wants to move here on the day he leaves his old house.
I accepted a low offer because he told the agents that he was a week away from exchange, he had somewhere to stay, so he didn't need to wait and that his mortgage was in place. He still hasn't exchanged, he won't go and live with his parents as he said he would and he hasn't had his mortgage approved yet.
I am really, really angry and told my agents that I'm thinking of taking it off the market while I find another agent to handle it for me. That got everyone's attention.
I am told that after speaking to every agent in the chain and also my and his solicitors, my agents are going to tell him to get on with it or lose it. Fine with me if they think it will do the trick. I'm giving them one week and if there's still no progress I'm putting a stop to it.
And then there's the Street Triple, which I lavish time, love and lots of money on. It waited until I was almost all the way to the New Forest for my first solo trip, (which was my goal for all this time I've spent recovering) and then broke down. Again.
So that's the end for it. I don't trust it any more. It'll be fixed next Monday and then onto eBay, to see if there's any interest. It's the last straw.
But on the plus side, my new breakdown company proved to be excellent and got me and the bike safely home.
I think that's the only good bit ofthe week so far, although I did have a nice glass of wine and some chips on Tuesday night
